Jacksonville/Baldwin Railtrail, Duval County, FDOT District
2
This District Two Enhancement Project consisted of converting
an existing abandoned railroad bed into an equestrian/bicycle
trail. The project is approximately 16 miles in length and meanders
through existing wetlands. The project contains several major
creek crossing which involved the preparation of Location Hydraulic
Reports (LHR). Ian is serving as design engineer for this District
Two Enhancement Project and will be responsible for preparation
of the LHR. Ian provided the project engineer with the technical
support needed to assure the preparation of the contract plans.
SR 200, Marion County, FDOT District 5
Ian assisted the project engineer during this project located
in the City of Ocala. The project was 1.98 kilometers in length.
It consisted of design of sidewalk along an existing urban commercial
corridor. Included in the design were sidewalks, upgrading to
ADA standards, signing and striping including special emphasis
markings, traffic control, and utility adjustments.
Adams Street (SR 363), Leon County, FDOT District 3
Ian assisted the Project Manager in the development of construction
plans which consisted of resurfacing and milling of roadway,
constructing paved shoulders, reworking roadside ditches, and
extending non-functional cross-drains and side-drains.
Ross Road (SR 363), Leon County, FDOT District 3
Ian assisted the project engineer in the development of the
construction plans for this project. He was also instrumental
in quantity computations using the automated computations capability
of Geopak.
SR 363/ Oak Ridge Road, Leon County, FDOT District 3
Ian’s involvement in this project consisted of annotating the
plan and profile sheets, cross sections, including adding utilities,
and signing and pavement marking sheets, design, quantity computations,
and utilities.
Capital Circle, Leon County, FDOT District 3
Ian was involved in the design of the signs and pavement markings
for this project. He also prepared quantity computations, cross
sections, and a proposed drainage technical report.
SR 295, Escambia County, FDOT District 3
This project consists of milling, resurfacing, patching existing
concrete slabs, filling joints, placing a crack relief membrane,
and raising the existing curbing. Ian provided support to the
project manager in the preparation of plan and profile sheets,
typical sections and adding utilities to the profiles, and cross
sections.
SR 30, Escambia County, FDOT District 3
This project consists of the addition of two-lanes eastbound
to the existing two-lanes westbound in Pensacola, Florida. The
existing two-lane section will be milled and resurfaced. Stormwater
treatment facilities were required to provide for treatment
of the additional impervious areas. Ian assisted the project
engineer in the production of the construction plans, including
plan and profile setup, typical sections, traffic control plans,
utility adjustments, and signing and pavement marking plans.
SR 207, St. Augustine, FDOT District 2
Ian assisted the project engineer in various aspects of this
project including plans production and updating. This project
was an 8.0 kilometer urban roadway project. The project involved
the upgrading of a two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane (future
six-lane) urban roadway.
US 441 Bridge Rehab., Alachua County, FDOT District 2
This project consists of replacing the existing bridge with
a longer and higher structure to meet flood hydrology requirements.
The approaches to the bridge are being reconfigured and special
consideration given to the environmental concerns due to the
pristine nature of the river. Ian provided support to the project
manager in the design and layout of the drainage structures
as well as the preparation of plan and profile sheets, typical
sections and adding utilities to the profiles, and cross sections.
Mill Creek Bridge Rehab., Putnam County, FDOT District 2
This project consists of the rehabilitation of a historic bridge
that was built in 1916 by the Luten Bridge Company. A new superstructure
is being placed within the existing substructure. This involves
removing the existing deck of asphalt concrete, limerock and
brick deck and replacing it with a new deck slab. The new slab
will rest on new pier shafts and endbent backwalls constructed
on existing foundation footings. Ian is the co-project manager
working along side Lisa Ray.
US 301 / SR 200, Alachua County, FDOT District 2
This District Two 3R project consisted of widening for the addition
of a paved shoulder and resurfacing. Other improvements included
closing and relocating median openings, widening of medians
within the urban area of Hawthorne, and removal of existing
on-street parking. The length of the project was 18.144 miles.
