Dear North Central Florida:

The Florida Department of Transportation has initiated a study and design project to improve the appearance of 144 miles of the I-75 Corridor from State Road 44 at Wildwood to the Florida/Georgia State Line. The project has a twofold purpose: to promote tourism and the beautification of this highway, the “main street” of North Central Florida. The initial phase will include the conceptual and final design for the SR 44 and I-10 interchanges as well as the Florida/Georgia State Line. A conceptual design will also be developed for typical interchanges and the areas between interchanges. As funding becomes available the remainder of the 22 interchanges will be scheduled for these types of improvements. The funding for this project is from the Special Enhancement Funding Program as designated by the Federal Highway Administration. These funds do not impact appropriations for other planned transportation projects.

We are here this evening to solicit your thoughts and ideas on how we should proceed to accomplish our mission. In the next several months we will be posting our concept plans to a special web site (the domain name will be provided to the public within the next several weeks). You will be able to see our progress and provide your comments directly through the web site. You can talk with our staff members who are gathered here tonight or you can send or e-mail your comments to the following staff members:
