The Scenic Gateway Project scope
included the landscape design, special signage and irrigation
design for the US 21, SR 40 and SR 200 medians in the vicinity
of I-75. Our staff coordinated the design efforts with the City
of Ocala Planning Staff throughout the course of the project.
The special signage was developed from the concept drawing shown
below:

Landscape and irrigation plans were
developed for each median location. Concept plans developed
by three (3) Ocala Landscape Architects during a charet process
were revised and redesigned into an FDOT Metric Format. Plan
revisions were sensitive to the original concepts. A solar irrigation
timer and jack and boring plans were also included in the design.
The project was constructed in July and August of 1997. The
